3 bed cottage in Mousehole

England  > South West England  > Cornwall  > Mousehole

General

This is a fabulous two storey net loft conversion renovated to a very high standard. The spacious interior retains many of its original features. The cottage sleeps up to 6 people and a baby.

The property comprises of a living room with wood-burning stove & wooden floor: Utility: Ground floor Double bedroom with en-suite shower room/W.C.: Bespoke Wide Spiral staircase to first floor: Kitchen/dining-room with breakfast area: Double bedroom with 5ft bed & balconette with sea views: Twin-bedded room: Shower room/W.C. Positioned in one of the most photographed streets in Mousehole, the cottage is situated only steps from the harbour front.

It’s original purpose was connected with the fishing fleet that operated from the once bustling harbour. Built of Granite the ground floor once had wide openings, giving access for salting & packing fish with net lofts over. Mousehole was described by Dylan Thomas as one of the loveliest villages in Cornwall & it remains largely unspoiled today.

Wounderfull stay in Mousehole, charming cottage, best fit out, modern bathrooms, very well kitchen equipment, only a few steps to the harbour and good pub, nice village, good position in Westcornwall, short ways to the typical cornish coast......
With pleasure we would return!

We stayed at this beautiful property in February this year (2008) - what a wonderful time we had! The cottage is thoughtfully planned, particularly as there are additional facilities (kitchen, bathroom, bedroom) on the ground floor for those unable to use stairs. We particularly liked the sunny kitchen on the first floor and the small balcony which overlooks the typical whitewashed houses of this lovely fishing village - it was just how we'd imagined Cornwall - but better! My children and I just loved discovering Mousehole itself, but equally there are so many lovely places to see nearby. I would recommend Sennen Cove (nice restaurant on the beach) and of course, St. Ives. We had a car and had no trouble parking in the village (we noticed a regular bus service to and from the village for those wishing not to use a car). Will definitely be going back as many more places to see (intend to take a trip to Eden Project next time) and always nice to go back to this lovely cottage as our base - it's most definitely of 5-star standard - would certainly recommend.

This beautifully restored cottage was the ideal home from home for our holiday with my husband, daughter and baby grand-daughter. The quality of both bathrooms, the kitchen and furnishings was impeccable with close attention to detail aesthetically and for practicability. The travel cot was perfect and fitted well into the top bedroom but could be accomodated in any of the three bedrooms or even the living area. The position afforded ideal accessibility to the village amenities and the picturesque harbour ( 1 minute walk) and coast. We loved the ice-creams with clotted cream, cream teas and pasties from the quaint cafe nearby. Superb restaurants and pubs nearby and ample parking in the village and by the sea. Highly recommended holiday home; would book again.
