General

This delightful three storey, two bedroom house, built in the 19th century, can sleep up to six people comfortably and is located at the gateway to the Jurassic Coast in Bridport, on the West Dorset coastline.

Situated at the western end of the magnificent 18 mile stretch of Chesil Beach, now made famous by Ian McEwan’s best-selling novel ‘On Chesil Beach’, the accommodation is at the centre of the old fishing port and rope-makers’ centre.

For those with a long memory, the beach may also be remembered as the opening shot in the filming of the old TV series The Fall and Rise of Reginald Perrin, as Reggie walks out from the sea at West Bay.

Not quite Rio, but important in its own right, is the annual carnival held in August - a spectacular extravaganza taking over the streets in the seaside resort.
