British holidaymaker’s in the 60s and 70s came to these wonderful South West shores in droves and then came the advent of the foreign vacation - suddenly the ‘Benidorms of this world became such an attractive destination and supposedly "exotic" at that, that Brits deserted their own home grown turf.

But times have changed - foreign travel in some ways has started to become less of an attraction than in the years where sunshine was all and quality a secondary consideration. Now we all know how to make paella ourselves, even if we can’t pronounce the word properly and the old fishing villages in Spain have more high rise blocks than most can bear.
