General

The fishermen of old in Brixham certainly had houses with great views looking out to the harbour and stretching across the English Riviera bay, as they kept a close eye on the goings on of the fishing fleet, and this superb house is no exception. Now lovingly restored, holidaymakers can lap up this spectacular sight from this 19th century fisherman’s cottage, which nestles into the hillside above Brixham harbour. Since the days of King Henry VIII, Brixham has played a part in the defence of the nation.

The headland known as Berry Head is now a National Nature Reserve, but it is also a military site where guns were once positioned to defend the naval ships that were filling up with stocks before setting off across the oceans. But the fishing port has so much more to offer, with Blue Flag beaches, a rambler’s haven, culinary delights and all manner of activities for all the family. Don't miss out on a very special holiday destination - make sure you come and see for yourself.
