Cawsand 3 bed self catering holiday cottage

England  > South West England  > Cornwall  > Cawsand

ID  5701

General

In Cawsand with great ‘right out to sea’ views, a Grade II listed, 18th cent. cottage snuggling in with its neighbouring cottages. It has been completely renovated, exposing some of its fascinating history – no humble fisherman’s cottage this. Some say smuggling helped to pay for fine wallpaper, coving and English Delft-ware tiles. From its rear courtyard (table/chairs), access is gained and there are a few low lintels (5’8"). On the ground floor, dining room with views out to sea; flagstoned hall; fitted kitchen (dishwasher, fridge-freezer, microwave); back porch with washing machine, tumble drier.

Double bedroom with original fireplace (ornamental) decorated with English Delft-ware tiles, and sea views; shower-room (suite with large shower tray) and back door to courtyard. The staircase has original Chinoiserie panels and leads to living room with handsome ornamental fireplace, TV/DVD and stunning ship-watching views, and two more bedrooms – a double (5' bed) with more great views, and one with two singles; few more stairs up to a bathroom (suite with roll-top bath and separate shower). Loading and unloading only – public car park, 200 yards. Attic flat (separate access) occasionally used. Delightful cottage.
