Not just a stop off on the way to the bright lights in Torquay, you really need to spend some quality time in this traditional fishing village of Brixham to see one of the best of British coastal resorts on the English Riviera in South Devon. And quality is what you will get.

Whether it is the freshest seafood in the world (probably!), a UNESCO supported nature park area with indigenous flora and fauna rarely seen elsewhere, or the sights, sounds and excitement when the catch comes in for the day, there is of course even more to it than that.

Pleasure boats do not seem commercialised here, the old WW2 vessels have been lovingly preserved and the love affair continues as they take you to Agatha Christie’s old summer haunt in Greenway or on to Dartmouth, the world is your oyster, as they say.
