General

Located in a commanding position on the edge of the sleepy village of St Just in Roseland, the house benefits from outstanding panoramic views of St Just Creek and beyond across the waters of the Carrick Roads. From almost all of the rooms, you can look down upon the historic churchyard at St Just in Roseland and at the boats gently swinging on their moorings in the creek. The garden is spacious and benefits from a huge rear patio area for the morning sunshine and a deck area to the front for afternoon and evening sun. The whole site is shielded from the road by a high hedgerow and therefore is particularly private and quiet. The harbour village of St Mawes is literally one mile to the south, there are some delightful beaches nearby and the whole of the Roseland Peninsula is on your doorstep.

The house has been progressively refurbished by its owners over the last few years and now offers superb accommodation for up to 7 over 2 floors. All the rooms in the house are immaculately presented and all benefit from the breathtaking views. The living room is a particularly relaxing place to be and has a selection of very comfortable chairs where you can relax and look out on the boats in the estuary.

Guest Comments

Our week here in August ticked all the boxes - 8 adults and 3 babies could have resulted in chaos but the house and studio provided exactly what we needed (they even produced high chairs - owners comment: one was provided and the other two hired locally) and with the lovely big sitting room, the families could relax together without being cramped. The views from the windows are spectacular and it was lovely to sit on the deck in the garden and gaze across Carrick Roads.

The sailors sailed (we had taken a mooring at St Just) and the walkers walked and the dogs loved it too. There are many interesting gardens to visit nearby and the young took the ferry to Falmouth and enjoyed their visit to the Maritime Museum. All in all an action packed holiday. - Liz, Aug 2010

.....We had splendid barbecues on the sheltered terrace which had space to set up a great long table for all of us plus friends and it was good to feel that the bustle of St. Mawes was accessible if wanted but we could be well away from crowds even in the height of summer. - Suzanna, Aug 2010

The house was lovely and such a fantastic view from the living room............ We found the house very well equipped and in particular some very nice touches like the provision of cleaning materials/dishwasher powder etc- Xmas is quite a testing time in the culinary department so it was good that we found everything we needed.

I imagine it must be quite enchanting in the summer in the garden and patio, although of course we didn’t get to experience it this time. - Helen, Dec 2009
