Cottage in Afife village with small local shops, restaurants and railway station and about 5km from Vila Praia de Ancora and main shops. Viana do Castelo about 12km south. 800m on foot or by car to excellent Afife beach, famous for sand, sea and surfing. 2 beach cafés and showers/WCs.

House is single storey set in quite private and secure walled garden with gates and faces inland towards wooded hills. Large terrace with barbecue under willow tree, raised garden with pool about 8x4m, tiled surround and lawn. Inside cottage: spacious open plan living/dining area with open-plan kitchenette with gas hob, range and fridge. Long dining table, large open fireplace, TV/video. Shower room/WC, washing machine in cupboard next to barbecue. Open-tread staircase to gallery bedroom with double bed and twin drawer beds with screens to suit couple and up to 2 children (supplement); small insect-screened windows for ventilation and restricted roof height.

Linen (except beach/pool towels) provided. Maid service weekly and weekly linen change. Car parking area in garden. Ideal for beach holiday or as peaceful base for exploring lovely coast and countryside hereabouts. Preferred arrival Saturday 1600, depart 1000. Other days by arrangement. Minimum booking 3 nights (7 nights July/August).
