Hawaii 4 bed beach house sleeps 8

Hawaii  > Big Island  > Kailua-Kona

General

Our beach home is on the makai (ocean) side of Alii Drive, 2.5 miles from Kailua-Kona. The home has four bedrooms and can easily sleep eight to ten people. Our family beach home has provided us a refuge for rest and rejuvenation for more than 70 years. In keeping with the Hawaiian spirit of Aloha, we invite you to experience Hawaii of the 1940's and 50's. Regard your time with us as you would a stay as a guest in our home. Picnic on the promontory and enjoy the evanescent beauty of the Kona Coast. Lie on one of our three beaches. Rest, relax or float with the honu (green sea turtles) in the healing waters of our lagoon. Breakfast on the lanai and watch the schools of porpoise as they swim playfully past the houses, or during the winter, watch for whales breaching just offshore.

Built in 1947 from a recycled redwood railroad bridge, the gracious plantation manager's beach home is reminiscent of Hawaii's plantation era. Its 10 foot ceilings, indoor and outdoor lanais capture the feel of Hawai'i in the early part of the century. In front of the home are three white sand beaches. The sheltered lagoon offers a safe playground for children to learn to swim and snorkel. The large front yard and private promontory provide a perfect site for weddings, reunions, family gatherings and retreats.
