This fabulous four bedroom holiday villa sits high up on the end of a small sandy cove on Tobago, with open and dramatic views from Bacolet across the nearby harbour towards the neighbouring island of Trinidad. The villa is a truly tropical house with its own private pool and direct access to a lovely beach needs to be seen to be believed.

The owners live very busy lives, and as such the house was conceived as a place to which they could escape with their family and friends. On arrival at the villa, the city clothes and shoes come off, the swim-suits and pareos go on, and the atmosphere of this gorgeous house and pure tropical ocean breezes begin to work their magic.

Accommodation Details

Each of the four luxury bedrooms have unique en suite bathrooms and come with air-conditioning, and ceiling fans. All of the four-poster beds are elegantly draped with mosquito nets in the original colonial style. Three of the bedrooms open onto the pond and look out to sea. The fourth opens onto a bamboo-canopied courtyard which has a wonderful sea view. The Master bedroom and bathroom have shuttered windows that open out to the fabulous view, so showering or having a bath, whilst watching pelicans fishing in the turquoise Atlantic Ocean, not far away, feels more like communing with nature, than a humdrum daily ritual. There is a king-size teak four poster bed from which you can also look out through open shutters to the sea. For those wishing to stay in touch with the outside world, there is a dedicated internet connection.

Guest Bedrooms 2 and 3 have queen-size four-poster beds draped with mosquito nets and both open onto their own verandas, each as unique as every other aspect of this stunning villa. Each veranda has a slightly different outlook across the pond and swimming pools to the amazing sea view beyond.

Bedroom 4 has a double four-poster bed and shuttered doors with jalousies that open onto the courtyard which is a delightful and private tranquil oasis with bamboos. All beds have Egyptian cotton sheets with silk runners and can be made into twin beds if required.

The enormous living room and dining area is open and looks across a 60 x 30 foot pond to the bedroom wing, and across the Jacuzzi and two infinity edge swimming pools (one shallow, one deep) to the shimmering blue sea. This gorgeous room is open on the sides to the elements, except for cream canvas shutters that wind down to provide shade for any un-interrupted slumbers on the huge big teak day-beds filled with cushions and bolsters. The coffee table is large, so as to allow for all the many board-games that can be enjoyed after the sun sets. There is cable TV with BBC channels available.

The spacious kitchen is equipped with quality stainless-steel appliances and the tiled counters are trimmed with purpleheart wood. There is a large pantry and utility room off the kitchen and a powder room accessible from the living area. There is a dishwasher, and a double-door stainless steel fridge with filtered water and ice facility, as well as a large stainless steel gas cooker.

Ceiling fans also provide extra cooling breezes. Fresh fruit, vegetables and fish are delicious and plentiful and meals at the long dining table and benches always seem so much more special than any eating out experience.

All the furniture is either made from teak or other tropical materials. Big fluffy white towelling robes, and lots of white towels all add to the spa like ambiance. A big basket by the pools hold fresh supplies of large navy beach/pool towels and each room has sisal beach-bags to hold all the necessary sun and beach gear.

This is a very special place - a place that refreshes the mind as well as the body.

We had the most memorable time at this villa. We have enjoyed many wonderful holidays but this was far and away the best. So relaxing and romantic and we spent many an evening dancing to wonderful music with the odd glass of wine. Perfection ! Rena and her staff were wonderful to us. I bet you don't get many negatives about this property and you are certainly not getting one from us. We had the best time of our lives and we will return. May 2008
