About a mile from Mawnan Smith, along a pretty tree-lined no through lane, in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, is a detached lodge to a splendid country house with uninterrupted sea views. It is surrounded by 6½ acres of level gardens and grounds with large wildlife pond (5' deep) and formal fountain pool (both unfenced). You have your own sunny patio (furniture) and lawn, and you are welcome to enjoy all the grounds (abundant wildlife), from the ‘secret garden’ sheltered by tall hedges, to the field leading to the coastal footpath (unspoilt Prisk Cove, ⅓ mile) and picnic table with fabulous views over Falmouth Bay.

From the lane, a sweeping drive leads up to the lodge; door to hall and living/dining room with long, lovely garden views, woodburner, TV/DVD, and French windows to garden; excellent oak fitted kitchen (dishwasher, washer-drier, fridge-freezer, microwave); two bedrooms – a double (5' four-poster bed) next to a smart bathroom (suite), and a twin (footboards) with en suite shower-room (suite). External door at back to coat/boot drying room. No children under 10. Great chill-out place for peace and quiet.

This is a fantastic place to stay - tranquil, with beautiful gardens and good local walks - it was just what we were after! Having a big selection of books to 'borrow' was an extra bonus :-) We had a wonderful welcome and could not fault our hosts - or the accommodation - in any way.
