General

1/2 mile from Millbrook and 1/2 mile from the big sandy beach at Whitsand Bay is this farmhouse, the origins of which go back to the 16th century. It has been a family home for generations and has survived much turbulent history. To one side is a very pretty enclosed garden with large lawn, table/chairs, barbecue. Mature trees and farmland surround it and about 300 yards away there is a coarse fishing lake (carp, tench, roach, rudd, bream and perch – some as large as 25lbs!). Fishing free for residents.

Inside, a lot of recent work has been done to provide a lovely roomy family home. Access from the garden to porch (for coats/boots, tumble drier, freezer) to big fitted kitchen (dishwasher, washing machine, microwave) with dining table/chairs in the middle; equally big living room with open fire, TV/DVD; across a slate-floored hall, a children’s room with lots of toys, games and piano, leading through to a downstairs double bedroom with door to garden; bathroom (suite) and separate loo (washbasin).

From the hall, stairs up to five more bedrooms – a double plus single, a double, a twin with 5’6” door lintel, another twin (no clothes-hanging space), and a single – all very individual and prettily done. Upstairs, two bathrooms (suites, one plus bath-shower). Cautionary Deposit £200. A smashing home from home.

"This property will suit a large party, there are plenty of rooms to choose from and a large downstairs walk in shower. The gardens are beautiful and there is a swing for young children to use. The lake was an added bonus too. A place to chill out!!!"

"Having had many a happy holiday in South East Cornwall, usually staying with Family, finding such a super house in such a lovely part of the county was a great way to spend New Year 2011 with our friends."

"Great house for a big group of people, but I think couples with young babies would be better suited closer to Looe where it is possible to get on the beach easily. The garden would be great for 4 years plus but our crawling babies were a bit of a problem. However we did enjoy our stay and the babies loved the playroom"

"The chance of a complete family holiday, buitifully situated and sourounded by farm animals made every member of my family including our grand children walk around with a smile and enjoy every day that we stayed perfect"
