Msambweni 4 bed beach house

Kenya  > Kenyan Coast  > Msambweni

General

This is a beautifully appointed double storey villa on one of the last unspoilt beaches on Kenya's Indian Ocean coastline. Entering through a magnificent brass studded Arab door leading into a courtyard, on your left is the dining room with kitchen adjoining. In front of you is the sitting room. Through Swahili doors and Lamu style arches is a sunny patio. To the right is the 'Majlis' lounge/sitting area which leads to the pool area. A back stairway from the Majlis takes you to the spacious 'Sultan's suite, furnished with Lamu beds under an enormous mosquito net. The bathroom has double shower and basins with ample cupboard space.

Above the sitting room is the Simba room with four poster 7ft double bed and small bathroom. Across the elevated walkway are two twin rooms, which share a bathroom and another stairway leading down to the dining room. All bedrooms are upstairs, to catch the breeze. They also have electric fans and mosquito nets. All furniture is hand carved in the Swahili style. Doors and windows are also carved, and left open at night so that you awake to a fabulous coastal sunrise.

The house is fully staffed with cook, house servant, gardener and night watchman. We have mains electricity and sweet water from our own well. The garden is well kept with many indigenous palms and trees. The house is let on a self-catering basis. Give your provisions to our cook and he will create delicious meals which feature fresh fish and seafood bought from the fisherman on the beach. Fruit and vegetables are brought to the back door. A hostess can be arranged if you prefer. Contact us in advance to make arrangements.
