Quietly tucked away on a no through lane in the heart of Penzance (station and harbour, 500 yards; seafront swimming pool, ¾ mile), a striking, detached former vicarage, sturdily granite-built in the 1880s for neighbouring St John’s church (one bell for Sunday morning service). High-ceilinged and full of light, now totally transformed into a smart and comfortable family home with upstairs views over rooftops to the sea. At the front, a small lawned garden overlooks the lane and down past the church to the harbour beyond. Behind, a large conservatory leads to adjoining walled gardens, both enclosed, part-lawned, with palm trees and sheltered sitting-out area.

Wide staircase (enormous stained glass window over) up to the first floor and five bedrooms. Three rooms have zip-linkable beds and are all spacious and light with pleasant views over the garden and rooftops to the sea: master double with 6’ bed (or twin), washbasin and roll-top bath plus hand-shower; another double with 6’ bed (or twin), and one with 5’ bed (or 2’6” twin beds); further small, pretty double (limited clothes-hanging space); and a large twin. Shower-room (suite). Family bathroom (suite with roll-top bath plus hand-shower). Steep back stairs (stairgate) down to ground floor and scullery.

Caterers can be recommended by owners. Damages Deposit £250. Comfy, spacious, well-equipped. Great location, everything within easy reach.
