On the hillside above Porthleven harbour, a semi-detached ‘upside down’ cottage with gorgeous sea views (next row back from the front). Nine steps lead down from the road to a tiny gravelled patio (table/chairs) with a glimpse of the sea between rooftops. Hall; on one side of it, a roomy double bedroom (5’3" bed), on the other, the bathroom (suite plus bath-shower, washer-drier); stairs (stairgate) up to stylish living/dining/kitchen (slimline dishwasher, microwave) with open fire and sofa bed (for alternative sleeping), folding table/chairs, TV/DVD and big bay window with sea views.

We had never visited Porthleven before so this was a bit of a leap into the dark. Indeed, we even arrived after dark but the outside light was left on for us so we had no problem finding our way to the front door and, after a long drive, it was wonderful to find 2 pints of milk in the fridge, the heating on and a gorgeous super kingsize bed to fall into and, in the morning, when opening the curtains in the living room, wow - what a view. The cottage was everything we expected and so much more. We met the owners and Ms Kite, the caretaker, all of whom were extremely friendly. We will definitely recommend this cottage to all our friends and family - Julie Burton
