At the side of the house, a little gated walled footpath (full of flowers) leads to the front door and stairs up to large, open-plan, L-shaped living/dining/fitted kitchen (dishwasher, washing machine, tumble drier, microwave), all very civilised with comfortable chairs/sofas, nice pieces of furniture and Portmeirion china, TV/DVD; you can observe the world pass by on the donkey-sized street below.

Stairs continue up to the second floor and three bedrooms – a double (5’ bed with footboard) with long views over rooftops to the sea and en suite bathroom (suite with corner bath with seat plus hand-shower), a room with two single beds, and a single (Velux window); shower-room (suite). Church bells chime beautifully on the quarter and with a melody at 1am/pm, 5am/pm and 9am/pm. Professional catering available. Wonderful walks over the castle’s estate virtually from the front door.

The property exceded the expectations I had of a holiday let with little touches that made it feel like a home. With the castle to one side and the church to the other, the whole situation was idyllic and the church bells added authentic, English village charm. Just lovely - Mr H Joy
