General

In a residential area a mile from the centre of Teignmouth, a handsome, detached 1930s art deco-style house with panoramic views over the estuary towards Shaldon and the pretty fishermen’s cottages and bathing huts along Teignmouth’s river beach. Set just back and above the road (very occasionally heard) which runs along the river Teign, this smartly restored home is comfortable and well-equipped with good-sized rooms and lots of space. An enclosed, mostly lawned garden surrounds it with steps down to flower and shrub-filled terraces at the front; to the side, sun deck and terrace area (table/chairs, barbecue, water glimpses) and soft fruit beds (seasonal, pick your own). Behind, a hard-standing area for dinghy parking (max. 15’) and a handy storage shed for your surfboards/beach gear.

Covered porch with front door into large hall; double glass doors to length-of-house living room (TV/Sky/DVD/video) with lovely polished oak floor (rugs) and filled with light from large bay windows at the front (views); dining room (TV/DVD, sofa), again bay-windowed with lovely views; super-smart kitchen/breakfast room (dishwasher, fridge-freezer, double oven/ceramic hob) with walnut units, polished granite worktops, central island/breakfast bar (two stools), table/chairs for 8 and glazed double doors to deck/garden; utility room (microwave, washing machine, tumble drier, larder fridge, back door to garden); downstairs loo (washbasin).

Upstairs, five bedrooms. At the front, with great water views: large master room with 6’ bed, TV/video, sofa, en suite bathroom (suite with jacuzzi bath plus separate shower) and small balcony; smart twin; and a large twin (zip-linkable to 6' double) with en suite shower-room (suite). With pretty garden views and water glimpses: a small double, and another double (5’ bed) with walk-in (no door) en suite shower-room (wet-room suite); family bathroom (suite plus bath-shower).

Light and spacious, excellent stylish home. Caterers can be recommended. Space to park small boat, if required. Great location for exploring coast and countryside. Cautionary Deposit £300.

Superb large house with great facilities, ideal for family holidays, fantastic location and great views. - Holidaymaker on 8th Jun 2011

A beautiful house, extremely well equipped. We stayed at the house when attending our son's passing out parade at CTCRM in Lympstone and it was a perfect place to stay for such a special occasion. We'll be back in the summer for longer so that we can explore the area properly. - Mr & Mrs Leggett on 6th Dec 2010

The standard of accomodation was very good and exactly as detailed. we will definitely use your company again. Many thanks! - Mrs H Ramsden on 9th Aug 2010

We all loved this house, which is of a fantastic standard through out, it felt like a family home rather than a holiday let. We loved the view and would have taken it home with us if possible, perhaps in some way we did with the tens of photos we took from the master bedroom window. Ideally positioned for a holiday without the car. - Mrs S Nix on 2nd Aug 2010

Everyone in our party of 9 enjoyed the holiday. The property was very comfortable and large enough for a large party. We would recommend this property to friends and family and would love to go back again. - Mr C Parry on 5th Jul 2010
