Gwithian is a picturesque little coastal village in west Cornwall about 6km east of St Ives. Its main attraction, east of the village, is Gwithian Towans, which is a beautiful stretch of uninterrupted coastal dune land which provides excellent opportunities for walking along the North Cornwall Coastal Path, exploring Gwithian’s nature reserves, or just relaxing and soaking-up the beach life whilst staying in holiday cottages in Gwithian. Gwithian Beach stretches five kilometres from the Hayle River mouth to the Red River mouth at Godrevy. The beach is popular throughout the year with families, surfers, windsurfers and other beach sports enthusiasts. At low tide there is a vast amount of fine white sand and plenty of room and the large area of rock pools is perfect for kids to explore, there are some great caves to hide in as well.
