Holiday Cottages in Mawgan Porth offer the perfect base to enjoy this stunning little beach town hidden between two steep headlands on Cornwall's North Atlantic Coast, seven miles north of Newquay, between Watergate Bay and Trenance. Most of our Mawgan Porth Cottages are nestled in this lush green valley where the River Menalhyl runs down to the sea. The beach is wide and west facing and is cloaked by high rugged cliffs. It is a very popular beach with families thanks to its soft golden sands, dunes and rock pools and safe at all tides, with a number of caves to explore at low tide. There is also Beacon Cove, a short walk away on the southern headland. It is a tiny sandy beach that is completely sheltered, and well worth knowing about on busier or windier days.
